josh completed his first week of work successfully. he loves it so far. he has just been doing classroom training. he'll be in a classroom for another week and then he'll go to the airport for training. oh, i guess i should mention--he is working for the TSA as a security officer at the airport. so if you are flying to/from sky harbor then keep your eye out for him. ninety percent of TSA employees are security officers so more than likely you won't see him because there are so many of them at the airport. so for one more week he'll be working from 7 to 330pm. then he moves to an earlier shift--445am to 115pm. at least he'll have no traffic at those times. after two weeks of that shift he'll go to part time from 5am to 10am.
i successfully completed my first week of being a lonely stay at home mom. the days went pretty fast, but i just need to think of more things to do. im stuck at home without a car so we can't go anywhere, and it is way too hot to walk anywhere...so avery and i get a little bored. we sing and read and play, but it would be so nice if we could just go somewhere (like the mall--our favorite place to stroll around). by the time josh gets home i am ready for a little break. BUT, so is he. i've been home all day inside so i just want to get out of the house as a family. he, however, has been gone all day so he just wants to stay home and rest. its been rather frustrating. either i just have to face reality and get used to staying home for the rest of my life, or he needs to suck it up and spend some time with us outside of the house. haha...that's pretty dramatic, i know. so i'm sure there is something in the middle that we will settle on so we are both satisfied...until then with me luck!

We only have one car too and so I totally feel your pain. For the first six months of being a stay at home lonely mom I seriously think I was going crazy. It has worked out really well that eventually I found a friend in the exact same situation who lives close, so if anything, we at least hang out together at each others house's. Start praying for someone like that to move real close :) It has been the biggest blessing.
I agree. It is hard to stay home with kids without a car. Can you ride the bus? That might help a little even though it takes twice as long to get anywhere. But then...it is nice to kill time sometimes. :)
It is hard staying home all day, and Adam is the same way. We finally got a second car about 6 months ago, and that's been nice, but for now I would take advantage that he gets home so early, and still hit the mall or just run errands and leave Avery at home with her daddy. It has helped me to meet with some other ladies from the ward for a playgroup. Hope that helps. Hang in there!
